Class Notes from 2/22/2010

Hello Dancers!

Thanks to all of you who came out to practice last night! In case you missed it (or in case you want to review), here's what went down!

- Beginner and Intermediate classes were combined due to a shortage of both instructors and students. From 7:30-8:30, Chelsea and Phil taught a lesson especially for follows, focusing on how to tune into your lead and make the most of every opportunity to style and play.

- For the Advanced hour, Megan tagged in to teach an impromptu lesson on solo jazz moves including the Roger Rabbit, Apple Jacks, and scissor kicks. For the last half hour or so, we had open dancing.

This week was a little smash-bang, because Evan was home sick. So, thanks to everyone who made it out for being flexible and going with the flow!

Don't miss SOUL NIGHT this Sunday at Harry Reese's dance studio! It's gonna be awesome!

January Workshop Video Posted!

Check out the Videos page for a new installment! Evan and I did a quick demo of MOST of the material we covered in the last workshop. There's a little Balboa and a little Collegiate Shag. . . something for everyone!

If you were at the workshop, you'll notice we didn't fit QUITE everything into this video. A) That's why it's worth it to SHOW UP TO THE WORKSHOP and B) It's not that long of a song; we did what we could. :-)

Things are in the work for an extra big workshop in April with the Lindy Bombers participating, keep your eyes on this site for updates!

Tonight we'll have auditions for the advanced group, if you're up for putting yourself to the test this is your chance for February.
