Upcoming Format Changes

Fellow Lindy Bombers, I apologize. I'm sorry there hasn't been a lesson recap since June, or even a YouTube video to keep you entertained. I have let the blog lapse, and I am ashamed.

But I'm BACK! Am I going to search my memory and dredge up an entire month's worth of lessons? No. But, I am going to let you all know about some upcoming format changes to Monday night lessons, let you know about TUESDAY night lessons, and then make some updates to the rest of the site. Enjoy!

FIRST UP: Format Changes
If you haven't been in class for a few weeks, you may not have heard about this. Our long-time format is, as of last night, a thing of the past. Don't panic just yet.

The first hour of every Monday will not be affected by the change, so if you've been attending the 7:30 class, keep coming! Evan, Oscar, and a handful of other teachers will continue to give great Lindy Hop lessons.

The SECOND hour, formerly known as the advanced lesson, will now be a team practice, and will last 90 minutes (from 8:30-10:00). Members of the team already know who they are, and they'll be practicing to represent Wichita in performances and competitions at out-of-town events. If you're interested in joining the team someday, keep practicing! Audition information will be announced at a later date.

If you're NOT interested in being on the team, or if you're unable to participate, but still want to continue your dance education, FEAR NOT! The 8:30-9:30 hour will STILL be available for your practicing needs! If you have a lesson you'd like to give during that time slot, let Evan know and he will get you set up to teach. Next Monday, Megan will be doing an undoubtedly awesome lesson on solo moves for your Lindy Hop. I personally think it would be great if everyone stayed for the 2nd hour - it won't cost you extra, and you'll get twice the material to work with!

SECOND: Tuesday Night Lessons
Starting a week from today, there will be a local opportunity to take MORE Lindy Hop lessons, on TUESDAY nights! Read all about it here, and here are the quick facts:
- Oscar will be teaching a Lindy Hop class at 7:00pm at Old Town Ballroom every Tuesday. Cost of the class is $5.
- On the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month, the class will be followed by a short intro-to-swing class for beginners, and then an open dance until sometime late in the evening. The intro class is free. The dance is $6, or $4 if you attended that night's Lindy Hop class.
- It's gonna be awesome!
